The Validation Equation

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The Lord is on my side as my helper; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes. Psalm 118:6-9 ESV

Validation. We all seek it. It comes to us in many forms. Validation from family, work, friends, your Priest or Pastor, and of course, our Social Media accounts. It can be mind numbing, faith draining and even soul crushing. So if it’s a natural instinct to seek validation, how can we curb the need? How do we deal with it and still be able to be successful?

Often times it is not the validation itself that needs to be quelled, but rather, who it is that we are seeking it from. There is only one source of true, raw validation that we need. It is the validation we get when we seek it from God. It we put our lives in the hands of God, we start to see God’s hands in everything. It may just be that what we need is to be loved. God is love. We may need to be forgiven. To be truly and fully forgiven, take it back to God. To be accepted, go back to your creator who made you in his own image. Not one part or the other. ALL of you.

Seeking validation for our lives from others, especially those who don’t even know us, is an empty well. I’m famous enough because He knows me. When you tap into that kind of acceptance, love, grace and hope, your life will change, forever.

God bless you
