A man decided to climb a mountain in order to get closer to God. What he found was that many other people were climbing the same mountain, all seeking their higher power. One person for every religion known to man. Our man was the only Christian. He got to the base, found a path, and began to climb by taking his first step up.
His climb was quickly interrupted by someone tapping on his shoulder. “Can’t stop buddy, climbing up to get closer to God.” Lifting his other leg and yet another tap, tap, tap.
“Sir, please, I can’t stop now. I’m heading up to be closer to God.”
Finally, as our guy starts to climb again, you guessed it, tap, tap, tap. Now irritated, our Christian climber gets down, turns around and finds himself face to face with Jesus.
“You don’t have to climb to get closer to God”, said Jesus, “I already came down here to get closer to you.”
Need to feel close to God? There’s no need to climb. Just turn around and know that you will be face to face. He already did the work to know you, now you must accept that he is there for you, no matter where or who you are. It’s not about who you are but rather who he is. Doesn’t matter what you’ve done, it’s about all he’s done and still doing.
God bless you
